relocation would be about a shorter commute as much as cheaper. from our current location its ~2 hours by train and a rail annual ticket is ~£13k, so I would be out all day every day and I dont care how much you earn thats a chunk of money to be spending just getting tot the office.
Don't want to be crapping too much money on trains but if thats what it takes to get a nice place to live for the family then its a compromise I guess. Out as far as Guidford, Tonbridge, MK, Luton etc its more like an hour and ~£5k so potentially worth it even though its still expensive.
Cheers for the pointers guys, its all helpful. We spent a bit of time over the weekend on rightmove scrolling through different areas but I dont think it helped.
