Refinishing carbon parts

I've bought a few used parts made from the wonder material known as carbon.

Some have a few scuffs and scratches, some started life shiny but through use have dulled. Some have logos that don't tie in with my build ideas.

After advice on how to tidy, polish, remove logos etc on such parts.

Thankfully none have any wear through to the weave or structural issues, so hopefully I can sand, polish or do whatever to make them look as close to new as possible before I fit and ride.

May also have a frame that needs tidying.

It's all about the aesthetics and also ensuring everything is protected from future issues from use and the elements.

Thanks

chuck it in the fire, all the paint will come right off leaving just the carbon.

should maybe note that all the resin will come right off too, so you just have the fibres, this might not be your goal. :)

Just run through the grits wet sanding to about 1500-2000. Then clear lacquer and wet sand and polish. Had success redoing Spinergys and HED wheels as well as a carbon Easton bar

I'll probably just polish first and see how this goes. May be able to remove decals as they are seemingly outside of the clear coat.
