I feel like a change from Specialized tyres that I currently have as the sidewalls feel like they are designed to collapse and tear.

Not too huge either, I like something around the 2/2.1 width that won't break the bank.

Kenda Nevegals or Panaracers Fire XC Pros - the Nevegals come up a bit fatter than the Panaracers. Both cheap good allrounders.

The Panacers look a little hefty. I don't weigh much and the less effort I have to put into forward motion the better. My ideal tyre rolls like a semi slick and grips like a big blocked XC tyre. I can only dream. Specialized The Captain seems to be a good mix but as I said I'm not convinced by their toughness.

The 1.75 Fire XCs might suit. Roll well but still have ridiculous amounts of grip for their width. They do look a bit 'thin' on the bike though.

Fire's yer tyre then! 550gm or thereabouts, and a pretty good roller too.

My current favourite combo is a Kevlar bead Kenda Blue Groove on the front and a Kevlar Kenda Excavator on the back. Great all rounders that work all year round. Pretty light too.

Maxxis Larsen TT. Fast rolling and grippy.

And at it's best in dry sandy conditions.

I live in Scotland :D

I think a trip to the shops is in order. All of the recommendations look pretty good. So I think I'll just go with my gut instinct when i see them for real. And then order them online for cheaper.
