BB How easy to do? Any advice please :D It's a alloy right hand side. I was going to screw the new steel BB in and see if it will make its own thread. The new BB screws in a little way then its to hard to screw more

Wire brush the internal threads first and make sure they are spot less check to see if it has been cross threaded if not plenty of grease on the new cup and work it back and forth until it screws all the way in, if you can't do that take it to your LBS and have them do it.

The threads are in poor condition. I will follow your advice till Tuesday and see how i go. thanks

put the other cup in the left side to make sure you are screwing the right side in centrally if poss.

If you have an old BB cut diagonally with a hacksaw across the threads and screw it in turning backwards frequently. This would help to cut/clear/clean up the old threads

I have the requisite tools if you want to borrow, or happy to run the tap through for you.
PM if viable option.

All the best,
