Thats a great bike, well-specced with some high end and very exclusive kit, I would imagine those brakes are a pretty limited run, if not one-offs.
Its a perfect compliment to the original Zaskar and they've certainly made a better fist of it than Specialized did with the Stumpjumper replica. MBUK have fitted it out with kit that makes it rideable today, arguably up there with the best hardtails.
gm1230126, Anybody that spends $1000 on one of them and then "knocks of the disc mounts and cable stops and adds some Moots style mounts on the rear stays for U-brakes." has lost the plot. Why do that? Why not just buy an original U-braked frame for $70? Would you buy a Ferrari and rip out all the modern parts to turn it into a classic? All you're doing is destroying a limited edition frameset. I just don't understand why somebody would spend all that cash on one of these and then fit 15 year old components.... madness.
Speedplay, you're saying that Discs are wrong? This is a modern bike, built to be ridden by modern riders on modern trails. Looks pretty well built for the job to my eyes.
This is a controversial bike isn't it!
