RBotM August 2022 - Theme Month - Frames! No builds Just Frames!

I was considering entering my Giant Cadex frame that i purchased 18 months ago from a gent on this forum. However when i saw the photos of the Battaglin, the idea quickly disolved. I think it's going to be a one horse race.
That's what you call....hitting the ball out the park...
Go on get it in....I'll vote for you if you vote for me...😁

I've had a change of heart and decided to submit my frame anyway after being persuaded by Mickyspinn's encouraging words. After all, it's not the winning, it's the taking part that counts. I have taken part in many things and it has been extremly rare that i've won. If you don't take part then you won't have any chance of winning. C'est la vie or something like that.
When i get round to it, I will build it as a retro mod(ish), using a Campagnolo 10spd system, carbon fibre cockpit and Mavic Ksyrium wheels.
I like the frames monostay? rear triangle construction and i'm curious to find out if a carbon frame feels different compared to the other two road bikes i use. I'm also going to put a carbon fork on it for improved comfort.

Get another pic up.....that monostay is rather sexy! Are the rear dropouts stainless? Look the same to me as my little bonded trek.
Giant have made a lot of walk on by bikes but that's not one of them 👍

The monostay is part of the reason why i bought it. Another is that i don't have the resourses to buy an ALAN Carbon 9, but they don't have a monostay anyway. The lugs are polished aluminium. The frame itself is a gen 2, so i'm hoping it holds together. Apparantly the first generation Peugeot Vitus Duralinox frames didn't, iirc.

Now i've taken it down from the loft and subjected it to daylight in order to take a photo of the rear end, as requested by Mickyspinn. While i had some flow on the go, I mocked the frame up with a pair of carbon forks.

Your such a bad bad man! Violating the rules not once ...twice ...but three times! That's 2 strikes for extra photos and one for all pornographic content....be ashamed of yourself...😜
Dare you to open that box.....?
Jamie can take them down if he wishes 👍

Ooh at last a RBOTM I can enter because it doesn't require a finished project :LOL::LOL:

It's a 1974 Gitane Country and I've got as far as the respray and collecting most of the parts... maybe this will inspire me to actually get it in a stand and apply a spanner or two...

Fairly unusual (I've seen one on a French site and one on a German one) if not wildly upmarket and it has those lovely Huret dropouts. Let's face it, it's not gonna beat the Battaglin (or even more so the beautiful Jack T) but I do love it...

Before and after pix plus a (cheating?) bonus one of the drop outs...
