Rat Rod Vintage MTB's

Where is the appropriate place to post rat rod mountain bikes? I mean I'd love to see other people's projects and maybe post a few of mine.
I might even tell you why I took the chain off my 1989 super grizzly :rolleyes:šŸ¤ŖšŸ˜‡

I have newer and older, this is just a representative sample.
The reason I asked was that most of those bikes are more on the purest side.
Mine aren't.
I only have four that I would consider close to stock form.
I have, sitting in the room with me, that Trek I posted, a decidedly non-sport Rockhopper Sport and a mostly bone stock Gary Fisher Mt Tam
The Tam is the only one of those I'd post as it's not been rat rodded. I did post the Trek but I also deleted it as it seemed out of place.

A bikes a bike.

People build or collect them for many reasons and everyone has their own tastes and styles, you being happy with it is what matters :)

Rat Rod....I don't understand the Trek in your picture related to that
edit oh you said you deleted it, ok but it's still there

I had posted a thread about the trek, and then i thought it might be inappropriate. So I deleted the thread but not this picture.
Clear as mud?

In the car world ā€œrat rodā€ refers to one that is worn, aged, and heavily patinaā€™d. Perhaps the term ā€œretro-modā€ or ā€œFrankensteinā€ would be more fitting.

Yeah they tend to be called reteo-mod, that is if you've modernised it or hacked disks onto a frame with a but of welding etc.

Tke the bike, grab its year and post in the appropriate my bike section.
Stick rat-rod, retro-mod or not in the title if you want.
People will read or not if they want.

I've been here for a couple of years (er OK almost 15 I think) and styles come and go.

Just post them up, some of mine look nice, most of mine are just built to ride, still I think I have most up on here now or ready too.

There have been cool modernised alpinestars, even modern bikes aged to the old style.

Everything goes as long as there is the love for old bikes there.
