Rare Retrobikes...

JP Weigle made some beautiful, let me say again, beautiful early mountain frames.

Silky smooth fillet brazing carefully caressed with luxsurious paint...oh yeah!

He's one of those early builders who approach frame construction with a heavy dose of artistic expression through elegant function.

Ironically, the bikes listed above as being seldom seen, lugged trek, Marins, Ibis, etc... are quite plentiful around the states, so much so that they are hardly noticed as special by the masses.

Anyhoo, there is a pic of the Weigle courtesy of Jeff at First Flight on his site...

Look for the 83 Weigle for some retro inspiration.

Anyone recognize the small piece that redirects the cable?

Other than being a stunning craftsman, Peter is a great guy as well.

Mountain bikes I would like to see here...

Highpath, off the wall British design.
Green Pace RC200, my own personal unicorn.
Parkpre Ti, never seen or hear of one, but it's in the catalogue!
Dyna Tech Quantum, mine was pinched, only ever seen 1 other.
Brodie Sovreign or Espresso, just the f***ing coolest bikes on earth!

Hey FIRST FLIGHT

The Wiegle is absolutely stunning :D Ive never had the priviledge of seeing one of those before..However seems the decal manufacturer splelt the name wrong on the down-tube ;)

arctos, salsa titanium, hasnt been as many FAT 10th anniversarys as I would have thought, all steel FAT shockabillys, extreme, slim chance, specialized ultimates, conejo, alsop, merlin elevator & FS (early models obviously ;)
steve potts, less ritcheys on this site than expected, that 1 IRD is lush.
also a real lack of early 50s cruisers. b'std BA lost my 55 schwinn fleet

Not that many Cannondales on here considering they were sold in high numbers ( maybe not in England ? ) . same with trek .

givenm that so many of us had them, you don't see many Muddy Fox Courier's and Explorer's from the 1987-1988 era.
