Mmmmmmm. Made me think:

What retrobikes DON'T we see very often here?

It wasnt that long ago where we hadn't seen a single Dekerf - and now a few have appeared.

Even Funk's have cropped up.

Not many Ibis's. Nor very many zolatone Marins.

Nice one Jez, hopefully this promotes a healthy discussion.

I have nothing rare, although in my life I have seen an American Breezer, Cunningham, C-26.

Those were all productions (to an extent). There has been a ton of one-off stuff that someone will always call the 'rareest.' As seen in this MTBR thread http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=54263

My contribution: A 1988 Yeti FRO that belonged to Linda Parker, John's wife. Built specially for her, as I dont believe there was a FRO made this small beforehand.

It sits in poor condition at the Durango Cyclery awaiting my loving hand...

There's only been one TOAD on this forum (mine) but Im so crud at actually working out how to build it it hasnt really had much showtime.

Surprisingly I haven't seen that many proper lugged Treks. Less surprisingly how about a nice Bromwich or a decent Titan 1/2 Trak (ah, memories of bikes I'vee owned).

Edit: Or a Turner Burner or an Orange Formula, Clark Kent or anything with Browning Suspension or a Chuck (now that would be nice to see!)

There was a clark kent frame at veloswap a month ago that went for $40. It was sweet looking. Should have pulled the trigger.

You guys need to go to bed.

yep the old Treks and Orange Formula are pretty rare.
Zolatone Marins are pretty rare, cos they were cack. Well, maybe not, but that Marin Pine Mountain has tarred me for life as being the 'worst bike I ever owned' :?

RM Ti Bolts not common either.
Only seen one Ellison.
Roberts white spider.
Ridgeback.

Will think of more...

Keep this going... 20 mins left at work...

Jez your goat is very, very rare. I would say production of those frames were less than 50. I have this on good authority, PM and we can discuss ;)

Also, in terms of pure retro worth, can you imagine how much any one of Lance's TDF bikes would be worth?? His 10/2 bike? The mass-produced replica sells for $10k

Mmm. So that FS Goat is super rare? Its sitting next to me in the study looking forlorn (waiting for black bling items to adorn it).

I'm keen to see how it rides so it will see a trail at some point.

I'll PM ya.

$10K for the mass produced replica! Poor Floyd with his container loads of his replicas now sitting in his yard rusting slowly......

I've been looking for an early Turner FTF or Burner for many years to go with my other Turners and haven't had much luck so far...

Rarer still is the Venturner - Ventana built Turner design.
