Raleigh Special Projects Frame 52cm Seat / 53cm Top tube.
Reynolds 653 tubing, Campag headset and Bottom Bracket. Original paint in lovely condition, one slight blemish on chain stay and on the dropouts where QR's have been, which you would expect for a 30 year old frame, absolutely no dents or dings, fluorescent yellow, difficult to show the true colour on a PC screen.
Also have the TTT bars and stem shown on the pic, nice anodised colour, bars are 40cm wide and stem is 100mm.

I'll start at £200 ono for Frame/Headset/BB/Bars & Stem only. I'm keeping the rest as it's all going on the new frame, unless someone comes in with a ridiculous offer, but really it needs period components not modern stuff.

Frame number shown on the picture, sorry about the muck, good luck with trying to trace a year from it I couldn't manage it, found links from other owners with similar frame numbers starting with B all asking the same question 'when was it made'. I'd say late 80's but that's as accurate as I could be

Ok no worries, if it helps it has 126mm rear spacing, which went up to 7 speed according to Sheldon.

As I understand it, 653 was introduced in 1986, so it is possible.

653 introduced in retail chain 88-89.

This Special Products logo series is early 90's.
Have one myself in 531 from '92.

It was introduced before 88, here's a link to a 1987 catalogue that offers a 653 frame. Where did you get the info about the Special Products logo dating, I'm struggling to find anything.
