raleigh record sprint rim info

got this today :facepalm: 25" raleigh ,it look original not the saddle ,the back rim is very warn it looks bad on the seam or is it?

Looks like the rim is shot to me, but maybe it can be 'repaired'?

Question for you, what is the rear mech?

This is a 1987 model, as it doesn't have the aerospace contour tubing, and the rear mech should be a Huret Rival if it's original.

I've never seen a visible seam on mine, bit weird that.

Assuming the 87 still had concaves fitted (looks like they are)...

They're not convaves, just regular weinmann black annodised rims, with black annodised maillard hubs.

i took the rim in to my local bike shop and two guys had a look at it and said its fine
