The original rims are by Weinmann "Super" Patented Concave model A124... these are very narrow by today's standards at just 20mm and have a date code on the inside either side of the valve hole 3/79. They've polished up really well having been buffed with a pad on my drill and a final polish with Solvo. The braking surface showing no signs of wear and it looks like I'm going to need a very narrow 10mm rim tape by Velox. I'm wondering what the effect concave rims will have on the bikes aerodynamics...will they slow it down?...or will they create some kind of weird vortex that will propel me to the pub even faster..
