Re: Dyna-Tech Team decals 1991
Cheers mate,
yup that is the one I was looking at.....I don't need another bike, greedy thats all
Not sure I will bid as I already have a 1991 model that is in need of some serious TLC!
Ok a question or two for the Raleigh experts here if I may?
I have a rather sorry looking 1991 Dyna-Tech (Bolted seat stays) in the team colours, its a rather special bike that deserves to be put back together (build thread to follow pending some further research) however it maybe beyond saving
Is it possible to debond the rear triangle (using heat?) and rebond a new one in, or braze one in? I have to speak with my local frame builder during the week (Kevin Winters - JMC Hardisty frames) to discuss the possibility of refabricating a new rear triangle. Or anyone know of a genuine Raleigh rear triangle/complete frame for sale? (I'd rather not butcher another rare bike to save this one if Kevin can fabricate a new rear end).
I have a suspicion that a complete new rear end is going to destroy what remains of the 'patina', TBH for me the history is in the frame/bike, not the chips and scratches - for all we know they could have happened in storage
I've been in touch with Argos Cycles, they can't replicate the orange patches/?flames/Raleigh decals or the 2070 decal on the down tube (Metallic component), so does anyone know if the originals are available elsewhere or have any been commissioned in the past?
Argos can do the Dyna-Tech/Top Tube Raleigh script no problem along with matching the paint colours.
The decals on my frame are damaged, however I could trace around them to produce a template if anyone can suggest someone to reproduce them - I've contacted Gil and I'm awaiting a response.
more later, cheers folks
Andrew
