I reckon 1980s. I found this one on Gumtree just now - £69 and described as “good” condition - I’d describe it as punched so hard in the face the mudguard won’t clear the downtube!

Should be a date on the hub, failing that the frame number should begin with N first digit is year. Its in great shape too. Lovely.

Ah happy memories, spent many an hour working on bike like this they were so simple a pleasure to work on. Great buy for 30 quid, also they are great fun to ride so comfy. Great tribute to your Dad.
