Quite. Aluminium drink can walls are generally around 0.1mm. You're gonna need a lot of wraps to make up 0.8mm.

If you repurpose a different sized shim, try to get one that "fits" the thickness requirement pretty closely. I'd strt being worried with anything above a 0.05mm radial gap.

If you're worried about the extra gap, buy two and slit them lengthwise, use two slightly-more-than-half shims

I purchased some 0.1mm brass sheet from Poland the other day to do a 27.0 > 27.2 shim. Haven't tried it yet though.
