Question on changing the spindle of a WTB paradigm rear hub

Hi everyone,

I am considering buying a rear paradigm hub that’s got a 145mm spindle.

How easy is to change it for a 135 one?

Any help or feedback from people who tried this before would be much appreciated!

I dont know about these hubs specifically, but as a rule it is usually better to get the right hub for the frame.
Trying to modify axle length is often at odds with the hub shell design, and leads to disappointment

Indeed, I will have a 2nd thought about it.

If it was 140mm then converting it to 135mm I imagine would be better in terms of fitting for both the fame and the hub itself.

The spoke flanges ought to be further apart than on 135 (that was the point of a wider oln), so probably not a good idea

Is the axle 145 mm long, or is the OLN 145mm? I was of the understanding that the hubs came in 135 OLN for standard 135 mm spaced frames and 140 mm for WTB spec Phoenix etc.
