Personally I can happily bimble up the hills if it means I can tackle the downhills a bit harder, I find that's where I have the most fun.

Trouble with that though is your ride time ends up being 80% riding up hill and 20% riding downhill. On a rigid SS it's 50 50 :mrgreen:

They're pretty impressive things. My Banshee Rune was 160mm travel each end but had a slacker head angle and longer wheelbase than my old DH bikes. It was more capable too but still climber pretty well due to the steep seat angle, long reach, clever shock and suspension design.

The downside was that it was so capable that unless you were riding mega fast on a really tough trail it was pretty dull...I've now gone back to a hardtail (still slack though).

dafuq! You know, there might be something to this "suspension" malarkey that's all the rage with the kids these days.

The speed he carried into the second technical section there is terrifying. Bits I'd be walking down, he flew. Outstanding.
