Wow…..a blast from the past. Am I really this old? I'm 99% sure it's one of the first ones we built……we didn't have our act together yet so it probably never had a serial number because we never put one on. Looks like it also has the 1.250 headset. In the early 90's everyone else was using 1" headsets. If we wait a little longer the color will be cool again. Maybe it's cool even now…smile

And if you check up on this thread Daryl.
Yes it has the 1.250" Fisher Evolution headset with the Fisher Mt. Tam forks.

<edit >
Figured I'd be the nice guy and edit out his personal email addy in case a bot comes thru.
It's the least I can do for a nice guy.

Re:

guys, grab this rare gem while you can.....how often do they come up? shipping is 100$ if you pack it right.

Re: Funk Pro Comp

Should I try to get Keith Bontrager to verify he hand rolled the front MA40 wheel himself, or get Shimano to verify they hand cut the 28 spoke front hub on a custom order ?

and no, shipping not included.
I have 4k in the bike and know I can't get that....but yea, I'm taking a big loss already, why make it worse ?

Re: Funk Pro Comp

Hi everyone!

A couple of things really don't make sense here:
1.) As a matter of fact I CANNOT BE A 1988 MODEL nor is it possible that it was bought in 1987...
the only thing possible in 1987 in relation to FUNK bikes was that it was "dreamed" back then-
To sum it up:
2.)Funk Cycles was established in 1989, hence it's not a 1988 model, and well it was not possible to buy a FUNK bike until
1989 at the earliest...
3.)Also the bike Daryl holds in the picture has different parts than the bike which is advertised-
4.)About the price: "Why do you have 4k = 4'000.00$ in the bike???
The total bike cost less than 2'750.00$ back then in the US....
Is there something valuable inside the tubes??;)
I think here @ retrobike it's important to base claims on facts not fiction.
Hope I could clarify a little bit.
