are there any numbers on the rear hub? e.g 70 9. these numbers are the date of manufacture. 70 9 means september 1970. some hubs just have the year printed on them.

I just spotted this on gumtree http://www.gumtree.com/london/64/64385064.html going for £230 but in excellent condition. This is the same as mine was (I no longer have it as it was eventually used as doner bike for my new frame, if the frame bought in 1982 can still be regarded as new ).
