Is it just a term for a shit bike for knocking about on or do people actually ride to the pub on a bike

canāt say Iāve ever even considered riding to the pub on a bike or actually ever witnessed somebody arriving/leaving a pub on a bike.
Maybe itās an out in the sticks thing
I've driven to Essex today, to pick-up a rather nice Claud Butler MTB that I've won on E-bay - (for just a mere Ā£37, laughably)
Basically, it been a very, very long drive, back into my old 'hunting-grounds' (Essex) & was def' worthwhile.
Passed countless Pubs on the way (& back) - more than I can wave a stick at, in fact.
Seen several bikes, including no-less that x 16 bikes (yes, 16) all parked-up around the beer-tables, with folks inside, eating/imbibing
Pub in question was "The Three Horseshoes" (& I know it well) - This was clearly a group (bike) visit - 4-cars only, yet, 16-bikes (fact)
Whilst on subject, TWO (yes, two) of our local 'bar-staff' have had their bikes stolen - (they cycle to/from work)
Town in question where its' (they're/they've) been stolen from is deemed 2nd-largest in Northern East-Anglia, so, "NOT THE STICKS"
The lad (lovely-lad, soz, don't know his name), had HIS bike stolen from the neighbouring train-station
Locked (fully), yet the c-ntz who stole it, used "bolt-croppers" - He had TWO locks on it - When returned to it, one-wheel was left there.
Meantime, Sarah, one of the gals that I truly ADORE (she's lush) had hers stolen right outside the Pub itself, by town square.
She used it all the time (commute Pub, she's barmaid) - Again, thieving c-ntz used "bolt-croppers" (two locks, again)
I've actually seen HER 'MTB' on about 28-occasions myself, near the table we sit & guzzle beer, it's literally spitting distance.
Some of the 'Pub-Riders' we saw were also at Brentwood (not 'sticks') AND Finchingfield, again Essex (yeah, that's "sticks")
But it was THE large (remarkable) group outside "The Three Horseshoes" with their 16-bikes that get my vote - (Group 'munch', Sat'night)
Maybe YOU just need to get out a bit more.....
