Pub bike

Is it just a term for a shit bike for knocking about on or do people actually ride to the pub on a bikešŸ˜‚canā€™t say Iā€™ve ever even considered riding to the pub on a bike or actually ever witnessed somebody arriving/leaving a pub on a bike.
Maybe itā€™s an out in the sticks thingšŸ¤”

Whe ln i went to the boozer i had a bike just for it, but it also got used to go to shops, round a mates, to the train station........

Same bike i used in the city to get about on too.

I've ridden to the pub many a time, and I don't even live in the sticks. My definition would be one where you don't really care if it gets scratched, dented, etc. Which in my case was lucky because not so long ago I knocked it over and the top tube got a nice series of big chips out of the paint ā€“ and I hadn't even been drinking, your honour.

Like @novocaine says, I also just use this one for getting about on, where I can lock it up and not be worrying too much if something happens to it. It's not a shit bike, just one where I won't be too upset if someone steals it. Luckily, not living in London, I at least don't have to cover it in tape or some other crap to make it look as ugly as possible...

I've driven to Essex today, to pick-up a rather nice Claud Butler MTB that I've won on E-bay - (for just a mere Ā£37, laughably)

Basically, it been a very, very long drive, back into my old 'hunting-grounds' (Essex) & was def' worthwhile.

Passed countless Pubs on the way (& back) - more than I can wave a stick at, in fact.

Seen several bikes, including no-less that x 16 bikes (yes, 16) all parked-up around the beer-tables, with folks inside, eating/imbibing

Pub in question was "The Three Horseshoes" (& I know it well) - This was clearly a group (bike) visit - 4-cars only, yet, 16-bikes (fact)

Whilst on subject, TWO (yes, two) of our local 'bar-staff' have had their bikes stolen - (they cycle to/from work)

Town in question where its' (they're/they've) been stolen from is deemed 2nd-largest in Northern East-Anglia, so, "NOT THE STICKS"

The lad (lovely-lad, soz, don't know his name), had HIS bike stolen from the neighbouring train-station

Locked (fully), yet the c-ntz who stole it, used "bolt-croppers" - He had TWO locks on it - When returned to it, one-wheel was left there.

Meantime, Sarah, one of the gals that I truly ADORE (she's lush) had hers stolen right outside the Pub itself, by town square.

She used it all the time (commute Pub, she's barmaid) - Again, thieving c-ntz used "bolt-croppers" (two locks, again)

I've actually seen HER 'MTB' on about 28-occasions myself, near the table we sit & guzzle beer, it's literally spitting distance.

Some of the 'Pub-Riders' we saw were also at Brentwood (not 'sticks') AND Finchingfield, again Essex (yeah, that's "sticks")

But it was THE large (remarkable) group outside "The Three Horseshoes" with their 16-bikes that get my vote - (Group 'munch', Sat'night)

Maybe YOU just need to get out a bit more..... ;)

Having picked-up that Claud Butler MTB yesterday, I fixed it up today & went out on a test-ride.

Perhaps ironic, but my route took me past "The Three Horseshoes" Pub again - which I remarked about, above ( x 16 bikes )

Today, an absolutely STUNNING "E-Type Jag" outside, in very, very 'pale primrose yellow' - 'J'-Reg & in immacualte condition

This here, is THE ACTUAL car I saw - same Reg' plate, (DOY 125 J) - N.B ; Photo' is "off the net", but NOT outside the Pub

That self-same fence you see above, is where the 'E-Type' was parked (2.30pm) today & yet more cycles less than 5-7 yds against same fence

By the fence, just 7 yards away (adjacent to the main road), were "yet another FOUR bikes" (pushbikes/cycling)

These, this group WERE most distinctively different, from the 'road-bike' club (x 16), that I saw yesterday evening.

The group of FOUR that I saw today (near the 'E-Type'), were ALL eating outside & each bike had a set of 'panniers' (touring)

We do get A LOT of holidaymakers up here (beach is about 5-7 miles away, dependant on where ya go...

There are also a lot of 'Caravan Club' touristy type sites nearby, as maps say "A.O.N.B" - (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty)

It does draw a ton of cyclists down here, especially in GOOD weather & I'd say the latter qualifies at the minute.

So, 16 + 4 = 20 That's 20 cyclists ALL attending the local Pub & all imbibng beer & eating top-grade grub (expensive)

That's just Sat' 23rd and Sun' 24th so far & I haven't even tried ANY of the other (many) local Pubs, as there may well be MORE cyclists
