Protecting Frame From Triple Clamp Forks? HELP!

Old School Hero
Ok guys - trying to get my brothers GT LTS DH finished and i would like to buy some frame protectors for the Boxxers on the front to prevent them damaging the frame on full lock etc. One of the original rubber stoppers is still present but perished, one has dissapeared completely.

I see Speed Stuff do something which may do the job - has anyone tried these????

Or if anyone can suggest anything else?????

20mins of google - has turned up very little!

Any help would be appreciated - thanks

Someone on here used those self adhesive rubber half spheres you get for protecting laminate flooring from furniture feet. Stuck them to the frame where the forks would hit in a crash.

I used to cut a handlebar grip open, wrap it around the stanchion between the upper and lower crown and ziptie (cable tie) it into place.

Rubber radiator hose of the appropriate diameter, black zip ties top and bottom. Looks good, even from a relatively close distance.

I do like that GT. A thing of beauty indeed

Thanks. Looks even nicer now that it's got a properly sized shock. I do need to service the forks... They top out with a terrible clunk.

i recall on friends mountain cycles, they actually had a lower headset cup that had stops on it, and then the lower crown race on the fork had a tab which struck these stops, preventing full lock. it was quite clever.
