Paint spillage is the usual accidental issue ..

Close !

The Upol, etch was playing up... it started to spit  the left hand rear down tube took a hit and i tried flatting it before it was fully dry

managed to sort it... it'll just need blowing in to finish :)

Was tempted to just throw clear coat over the metal work

this odd looking image is of shrink wrapped sections of frame where Bilt Hhamber rust eater has been applied ..

Pain to paint without a proper Jig :?

Tis a bugger when spraying then it starts spitting which can sometimes be rectified with a little thinners to just smooth it out a little but judging just the right amount of thinners can be a real mare so leaving it to dry then a little flatting off is my normal oice of action and although clear coat is nice it can yellow a little after a bit of time but your choice of colour will look quite well so keep up the good work ;/0 ..

The color of that primer is awesome! Leave it like that! :)

 its too late, the deed is done :p

The weather was kind to me again this morning so i took the opportunity to paint the frame.

Now, ive been known to Paint the odd car part ... brake calipers, alloys etc but Ive not painted a bike frame since the early 90's. im not going into detail in this build thread but i will do a separate frame painting guide at a later date.

Of course i could have shipped it out to my local powder coaters and saved a hell of a lot of time .... and possibly money
But wheres the fun in that ?
Most of the materials used here i had "in stock" in the "how to" thread ill add up what this would cost to DIY.

Im pleased at how the frame has turned out ....

One aerosol and a bit over for emergencies :D

That's got a great finish to it mate top job  ..

Cheers Fella, I'm aware it won't be to many people's taste but it's turned out just as I planned.

Im now thinking it needs black rims

Credit where it's due mate ;) and i really like the idea of black rims as i don't think silver would be a good contrast tbh and Dare's suggestion of orange decals isn't a bad idea either ..
