The rebuild is underway.....
I've stripped the bike down to the frame, forks and handlebars. Overall the frame is OK, although there are signs of cable rub on the front of the head tube and a spot on the top tube and some rust around the drainage holes...This seems mainly superficial.
I've yet to take the front derailleur and crankset off and thoroughly clean the frame.
I was considering getting the bike glass bead blasted and powder coated - I'm unsure of the cost and probably this would be very expensive
Alternatively, I've decided to clean the frame up as much as possible and rub down and prepare the rubbed areas ready to spray..
