Having looked at XYZ and taking into account everyone's very helpful opinions........£400. Did I mention it has anodised nipples?![/b]

Picture and more info follows below............

Thanks to all who have pm'd me.

Seems to be a concensus that the bike could have been a prototype or limited edition for the race team.......this is the opinion of the RB afficionados and not little old me.

I now fully expect someone to say...."No, it's a Carrera from Halfords!!"

you need to put a price on it mate- tis the rules

Thanks. Hoping for £600. It has had very little use. A friend got it from a sponsored rider sometime in the 90's so it has a bit of pedigree.. The front brake is a work of art. It looks like a 45 vinyl record.
I know I could get more if I broke it but that doesn't seem right.
I can't post a pic as they are allegedly too big. I'm happy to email them.

TBH £600 would be very optimistic for any Proflex, even with sponsored rider pedigree, they are great bikes but just dont fetch strong money, may seem wrong to strip it but it'd be easier to sell, especially if the Flexstem is cracked.

I'd be interested in seeing it, my first proper bike was a Proflex 752, same year as yours just a bit down the range (DX instead of XT)

Thanks. I would drop the price a little as I'm trying to fund a new road bike for summer and didn't really know what to ask.

I can't upload pics but would be happy to email if anyone is interested. Not completely sure if it's a limit on this site or that we live in the sticks and our phoneline is a piece of string and two bean cans.

P.S I'm a techno Luddite

you should reassess the value of this bike - unless it has pedigree or is gold plated and encrusted with emeralds, I doubt it will get significantly more than £ 200.

Hi chap

as this is the members section we normally do not comment on members sales negatively

your price is obviously based on what you think it's worth but not based on previous sales/comparisons etc

If your unsure as to what to ask then we have a .....what my xyz is worth thread here viewtopic.php?f=1&t=29681&start=4080

to get a chance of best guesstimate then pictures are essential to see condition, parts fitted and any other information visible

Proflexes tend not to go in the price range your after but pics and descriptions might help you with your sale

the pics difficulty i think is normally cured after you have 5 posts and above unless you use something like photobucket or other picture sharing sites

I hope that helps

Thanks for the advice all...Perhaps I was a tad over optimistic........but a prototype Hope disc brake, Hope hubs, upgraded hoops and forks, and x-lite finishing kit. I just thought it would be worth far more than a bog Proflex.....silly me!
