Problem with tyre fit on wheels

Some time ago I bought a pair of Fondriest Mega wheels off the Retrobike Classifieds (the sale thread is here viewtopic.php?t=207162), nothing wrong with them, all as advertised and exactly what I wanted for the Fondriest I was putting together. For a variety of reasons these have sat in my shed for years waiting for me to eventually get round to building the bike, but I've now done so as my lad has finally decided he needs a decent bike. I've fitted them with 23mm Conti Gatorskins, the tyres I usually use, and it was a bit of a sod getting them on the rims but getting them off again takes far too much force and the use of steel levers, which I don't like. This isn't usually a problem with the other wheels I have but the only way round it I can see is to use tyres that are bit easier to fit. Anyone got any ideas on tyres that may be a bit easier to fit, stretchier bead, slightly larger diameter? This might be an impossible question so don't hesitate to say so!

For every rim there is tight tyre. Use a different tyre. There is no ryhme or reason to this.

If you truley impossible try fitting a challange strada bianca to a h plus son archetype rim. That rim is mormally o.k for tyres. The same tyre is an easy fit to a tubeless compatinle velocity aileron.

The fiameter od all rims in 633mm.

Re:

Italian wheels tend to be bigger than French or shimano wheels. I don't know why, but it seems to be fairly common knowledge in cycling circles.

I struggle with and probably won't buy any more campag or miche wheels, as I have the problem you describe, but have no probs with my mavics or shimanos.
