First, as a newbie who stumbled onto this site and was well treated......thanks.
I have to report back. I posted that I had a set of dysfuntional Rock Shox mag 20's on my Merlin 92 Titanium MB.
I EBay-ed for an old Rock Shox pump and got it. I was advised, on this forum to use a football needle, then NOT to use a football needle. Hmmm.
I went to the local Cyclesurgery and got some latex oil coated my FOOTBALL NEEDLE and gingerly (Ooh Doctor!) stuck it in.
Phew!
Now these suckers are pumping up and down like a violinist's elbow.
So.
Don't be afraid of the football needle.
Thereafter I got some fat tires and cleaner fluid and went to work.
This bike is well on its way to recovery.
