Looking at getting a frame powdercoated but was wanting to make it two tone, can you spray over the top of powdercoat and if so does it look good or bad?

Great link and spoke to dan who sounds like a top bloke.

Roger, did you just do a rattle can over the top of the powdercoat, no issues with the paint coming off, looks great BTW.

cheers for the response folks

Gaz,

My frame was done by Hutchcoat at York, so I don't know if it rattle can or not, I have though found it to be really hard wearing, it has lacquer over the top so there does seem to be a thick layer of colour on the frame.
Yes I have scratched it and chipped the powder off of the forks but the bike now has some proper tyres on and gets regular use off road, as it should!

When I had the Foes done I was going to do it as a two-tone powder fade. The regular powder coater balfa use baulked at it though. Powder fade is a bit more specialist, though they did find someone, but I couldn't get any info on the quality of his previous so I stayed with the single powder.

PWS do both powder and paint - so not all those are powder...I just hope my daughter never spots that pink Hutch-a-like !
