Powder coating with bearings in place

No offence but it sounds like you're just being a bit of a nancy!

If you need help get it from a bike shop, if you can't get to one or don't want to shell out then brute force, ignorance and hope.

As for not being able to read the numbers on the bearings take a steady pic with a camera in macro mode and post up the result on here.

im back

to remove and replace bearings is pi55 easy just do it as powder coating a frame offers the better finish and if you ring argos trust me when i say they wont answer Q's on how to spray a frame as its there liverlyhood ;)

best to remove them because of the heat and the blasting process and then get the powder coaters to mask off .

No offence taken - brute force, ignorance and hope (and a 15mm socket) did indeed do the trick. More details here. The bearing reference number was printed on the outer metal edge of the bearing, i.e. completely hidden from view when fitted. Got them out and replacements arrived today; frame's going to the power coaters tomorrow. :D
