I havent ridden that area since 98, how far south does the china clay mine now extend please?
Except for the public road, the entire moorland area extending west from Newnham Park's edge, up until the summit (level with the 'tabletop' at the head of the 'downhill course'), has been fenced off; the track that used to run from the cattle grid that entered this parcel of land from the south, up to the summit, has been turned into a very flat and unsurfaced road for giant dumper trucks; some new (not very nice) bridleways have been added running east-west at the Northern and Southern edges of the enclosed land; the china clay works have encroached roughly a few hundred metres west and south, but not enough to reach the walled farm fields.
