Please show us your powder coated bikes

There are times when the paint is just too far gone, as with my 1989 Stumpjumper.

I would very much appreciate seeing your powder coated bikes.

My 1988 Stumpjumper frame is being powdercoated as I speak, hopefully it won't lose too much of the detailing around the lugs etc as powdercoat is usually a bit thicker than paint.

Somewhere I read that "wet" painting is better for steel frames, because the powder lets through moisture.

Although powder coating is cheaper and more resistant against stones etc. I prefer classic paint. The colours shine more and the powder looks like plastic. Finally, powder coat is sort of thicker: nice details (welding, imprints, lugs, etc.) could be lost.

My Bigfoot had been painted, then stripped and it was not really feasible to repolish, so I went for powdercoat.

Both my C16R and Clockwork had the Powdercoat treatment (Fabricoat / Watton), and very happy with results, at £40 a pop for strip, prep and powder i cant complain
