Please help me identify my vintage Specialized Rockhopper

Hello everyone! Please help me identify my Specialized Rockhopper. I’m not really sure if this frame was using 26” wheels, because i already tried on with 26” wheels but it seems too big in this frame. Maybe someone on this groups have some information about this small frame? The serial number of this bike is located under the frame, and the number is M0CR48629.

I think that's a 1990 RockHopper Comp. The catalogue shows the blue version but red was an option: https://www.retrobike.co.uk/archive/1990-specialized-catalogue.79/download (page 7). It would have been designed for 26" wheels, although, looking the front tyre clearance, I can see why you're wondering. What size are the tyres? 26 x ?

The fork is wrong somehow. There is no way you are going to get brake pads to line up with that rim. It must be a 24

Thank you for the answer, i see. I think the fork i had wasn’t original, that’s why the tyres and fork gap are little bit too close. I’m using 26 x 1.95 tyres. But i’m still confused, should i just keep using this fork and having this little close gap between the tyres & fork, or change the fork, or should i downsize the wheelset to 24”? But i read some online article, they said Specialized Rockhopper making 24” wheels for extra smaller size, is it true?

Yea true, for now i’m not using front brake
Idk, got no clue at all and i’m still finding an information is this 24” wheelset or 26” wheelset

Replace the fork if you can. The wheels are right.

Alright then, thank you for your suggestion. Hope i can find a nice 26” fork asap, so i can use this bike more comfortable.

There's a type of bike which is designed to have two different wheel sizes, but with the larger in the front, to take advantage of the greater rollover ability. It was named after the haircut (business in the front, party out back). However yours is smaller in the front, hence the "reverse mullet"
