Please help identify this NOS frame-Ritchey-Sunn-Voodoo-RM-

Re:

I agree, regardless what it exactly is, it's gorgeous and should be riden!

There is another Sunn on the forum with Ritchey dropouts: viewtopic.php?t=234077

But with all the different models and years that Sunn made chromed bikes it will be very hard to determine the exact model and year for this frame.

What weight is it?
alpinestars did a similar frame.

I don't know the weight , i didn't buy it
but hopefully by tomorrow at this time it will be mine!
how much should it weight??
do you know which alpinestars model could it be?
thanks

Just found the alpinestars, it had the alpinestars logo on the top of the seattube so it's not.

you refer this frame as a "special one", is that why I cant find it in the catalog??
Pretty much every year Sunn made a year-specific model. The Dix was made for 1993 (dix == 10, 10 years since sunn started, under 10,000 FrF, under 10 kilos) so it's probably not one of those - Sunn *did* stick to the serial number thing all the way through so it would have to be a 95 or 96 bike if it's a sunn. It looks to have a 1" headset, too, '96 was the last year sunn did 1" across the range. Not sure if everything went 1 1/8 in '97, but...

side vs top routing is not a worry, the 95 / 96 revolts routed on top, as does my '97 xircuit

The dropouts would be the main indicator it's not a sunn - all the '90s sunn dropouts i've seen were stamped "sunn".

Whatever it is, though, it's gorgeous.

I can confirm the headset it is 1" , and it has different dropouts like you say, and it also has the seat post opening backwards.

Its really disappointing it is not a Sunn :(

Re:

UPDATE
So I went back to see it again :D
i took a scale this time
it weights 2090 grams, although I haven't got an answer
as how much should it weight to be a good frame,
i said, well , i guess its not that much, ill take it, and when I was
ready to take out my money the old grumpy man,

said to me, its 80 quids,(2000 pesos) doubled his price

maybe because i didn't put my poker face about the frame and he looked at me all excited about it he doubled the price,
i was ready to punch him on the face, but don't worry , i didn't,
but it was a deal breaker for me.

That's in the ballpark for a sunn frame - a 50cm 1996 Revolt is ~1950g, the 5000 ~2150. My 1997 Xircuit is 2180g or thereabouts.

"Official" sunn weights here : http://sunnpro.team-forum.net/t5126-poi ... ting-page1

Basically, even if it's not a sunn, it's about the right weight for a good, double-butted steel frame.

Doubling the price is a bastard thing to do, though, and at 80 quid it's a lot less of a deal.

Did Merlin ever sell bikes with 1" steerer? I don't think they did.

I dont know, but being a Merlin was another possibility i thought about, I believe Merlin and Marin had 9 digit serial numbers like this one has

I know, im pretty sad about it. You say its a lot less of a deal, but you mean it is still a deal???

Re: NOS FORK

UPDATE

I came to take another look around and to try to negotiate the price,
and guess what happened?

The old man took out the original fork of the frame!
he told me he found it while searching for other stuff

It has the same finish, and the same gold chrome.
On the steerer tube says
DUROTEC 30x25.4
95-01-SL-TB

I have been looking for a DUROTEC fork, and I have found that GT bikes of that era had them, also the forks that i have found online have the material used in front of the serial number.
That makes me think SL- TB could be columbus SL tubing ????
It weights 800 grams exactly
what do you think??

The old man told me I could make an offer for both, I told him I would think about it :D Im just playing hard ball,
how much should I offer??

Re: NOS DUROTEC FORK

Here are the pictures,
I haven't found any fork like this one
