I found that stretching my calf muscles really helped cure the problem. Not had it again since and I’m careful to make sure I stretch before and after running or cycling.
Agreed, quite painful. Between lidocaine patches, CBD lotion, stretching toes upward and fresh arch support gel insoles I manage to survive. Aging is certainly not for the meek.
I don’t go in for this kind of thing normally but I was desperate and tried some acupuncture from a physio - first session had me walking properly and the second had me into real recovery - which still took a while. Might just have been coincidence!
Mine occurred after standing on the rungs of a ladder for a prolonged time. Took years to disappear completely but around six months for the excruciating pain whilst walking to dissipate.
I had the injection, worked really well for the stated 6 months then started again. I've found changing my shoes and having arch supports helps. Miss wearing my vans but don't miss the pain.
