Is that the same size as your Carl? I didn't think they did a 19" - only 18 or 20"? Makes a big difference to the TT methinks.

Reminiscing of bygone days here...(sorry)
Isla Rowntree was racing at the Malverns. It is something I will never forget.
Four riders on the front row of the Start line, myself Carl Sturgeon and Dave Hemmings, and Isla Rowntree (Junior Riders and women set off together).
I couldn't tell you who else simply because of the bike Isla was riding, as you can imagine it caused quite a stir.
Anyway, Carl Sturgeon kick Royal Ass as usual and finished a clear 10 to 12 minutes ahead clearing first place. (taking Pro-Flex Sponsorship from this Point on). Dave and I battled it out as usual right up to 100 yards from the finish, my chain snapped and I placed 3rd behind Dave. (still guts me even now).
At the finish line Dave and I swooped onto the Zinn (carl finished the race and as usual put the bike in the car and headed home not even waiting for the prize giving-As always very serious). ( I do have it all on VHS video at my fathers to this day)
Anyway, they had a small stall not far from the beer tent
and on display was the Z-753 in the grey a Blue Z-Centaur and the Lush Pink.
I think it was Dave Thompson with her on the stand (but it was over 25 years ago, so im happy to be corrected Dave?)
Speaking to both the builder and the Rider was a real pleasure and if I had one outing on the pink I had five, and the bike really was that sexy both to look at and to ride.
I have never ever seen another in pink until this thread, whether or not it is actually the same bike im afraid I cant tell you, but to my mind it makes little difference. But somebody bought that bike, and from memory it wasn't in either of the either of the catalogues that I have in this colour. It really did leave its mark on DH too, as it wasn't long after the white one was painted with the flowers ala Mint Sauce.
Something that I am conscious of are the brake levers, I always thought the bike on the stand were Euclid with the adjustable levers, purely as I also thought how close together they were on the narrow bar, and how, whilst totally overbuilt and pointless what a thing of beauty they were at the time.
Suffice to say what stopped me buying the bike there and then was simply the size, and the difficulty in being able to choose a Pink bike over a Blue. Hence why I waited.

I went to school in the West Mids and a few of us went out with the Blackcountry Rollers. I remember Isla from these rides and I know she lent a pink Zinn to one of those friends. Being 16 he got ripped hard for riding a pink bike and a I think the bike was eventually stolen from outside a shop. This could very well be the same bike...

Its Doubtful its this one, as it would have been too big for her, stem too long etc.
this was the bike she ended up riding (to demonstrate size)
think she rides with the StourBridge club now, or was, really makes me smile that she went on from a teenage girl to become a multi talented National Champion.

It was a hot one as far as I remember.I spent quite some time drooling over the Zinns I must say. Still would like to add one to the collection one day
