I did try chain lube between the spoke crossings, I'll try sanding too.

Last time I went to my lbs they doubted what I asked for existed let's just say we aren't full of great wrenchers. If I could make a good wrencher in Denmark you know something is wrong

Can never have too many tools. That said all the experienced wheel builders I know never use them. It's all done on feel. Was referring to the bike shop

No you're right even by my dad it was done by feel and he hadn't a ******* clue. I used to service HIS bikes
