Peugeot Sahara / Roland Garros - In search of informations

Hello,

I was reading the fabulous thread of Jam_SWorks about his Peugeot collection :
https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/my-peugeot-collection-one-bike-at-a-time.422101/

I didn't want to interfere in his thread, so I'm posting a new one to ask for some informations. :)

Jam_SWorks' collection is very nice and I love that he doesn't stick to high end models. One can also have fun with entry level bikes. :) I know that, for example, I love to ride with my Sahara. I bought it in 2015, I wanted to singlespeed it, and I was very proud of the result because it was my first DIY bike. The seller told me that it was a '89 model, but it seems it's very difficult to find informations about this very model. I saw on a reply of Jam_SWorks' thread that the Sahara is mentionned on a 1989 document, but I looked at a lot of (french) Peugeot catalogues and I didn't find anything about this one. Even of the 1989 catalogue (it was the first I looked at, but after that, I looked at all the catalogues from 1985 to 1995 (no catalogue for 1993). My bike was in poor condition when I bought it and I don't even see a serial number on the frame (I suppose there was one back in the days, under the bottom bracket, but today it's gone.

I've posted pics on the adequate Show us thread : https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/show-us-your-peugeots.401622/page-3#post-3425135

If someone has some informations, it would be nice ! I would like to know when the Saharas appeared and when Peugeot stopped selling them. And if it's possible to confirm the year of my bike.

Also, if someone knows the Peugeot Roland Garros Edition. I always have had kind of a crush about this bike. It's a 1x 9-speed, with foldable pedals and stem (pic from the net) :

Thank you ! :)
