Peugeot PX10

Yea no worries as soon as the frame & forks are finished I'll post some photos of it. What I will say is that when I bought it, it had been painted Red & 3 cable guides had been silver soldered on to the Top tube (DOH) which I had removed, then a couple of hours work removing the excess silver solder off the frame with very fine emery cloth. :) The chrome on the frame & forks was as if it had just left the factory (MINT Condition) as someone had sprayed a heavy coating of lacquer / varnish over them! ;)

Sounds great. You are getting rather prolific with the px10s! Do they get regular outings? I'm looking forward to getting to grips with this one, I find it takes a while to get the 'feel' of a bike, that's when you start to really enjoy it.

New year and still not finished! I have decided to delay the full restoration and clean this up for use, to get a better feel for the bike first. Although it seems a shame not to go the whole hog this is my only road bike and I want to do some rides this year. It won't look anything special but I am so grateful for all of the wonderful advice above that will be completely invaluable when I have the time, money and space to treat this bike to the full restoration that it undoubtedly deserves.

Great idea - we need to get out for a road ride at some point soon then - since I've had my Peugeot the furthest I've ridden on it is the 5 1/2 mile commute to work!

Re:

Guys,

If you do decide to go for a retro road ride around Southend when the weather gets a bit better please let me know as I'd love to join you!

Np Pugs at present although I did have two Peugeots back in the late 70's, early 80s, both purchased brand new from Brownings near Chalkwell Park.

Until I manage to obtain another Peugeot I'll have to turn up on one of the following....

Regards,

Steve.

Hey Steve, of course - more the merrier - will drop you a PM in a mo.

Crackin' bikes by the way....going to make my Peugeot look very modern!

Hi Steve, another Southender! Great news and great collection of bikes you have there. Sounds like Mart is on the case with meeting up, hope to see you on a ride soon :)

My 3rd PX 10 just back from the Sprayers :)
I already have 2 White ones with Black Nerves lugs so I thought I would do this one Blue & Yellow.
It was Red when I originally bought it & someone had silver soldered 3 cable guides on the top tube!! So I removed them.

That looks fantastic! Can't wait to see it built back up, it was the colour scheme I wanted for my one, I will get it done one day....:)

In the interests of having this back on the road for the spring, could I ask recommendations for cable? What's best to use? I also would like to replace the brake levers as they are rather worn out, they have a lot of play in them. I suspect they will do for this year, I will be doing a full restore hopefully next winter...
