A simple white powdercoat from a place that does bikes would work wonders without costing the earth put on some period decals and it will be like a time warp. I never liked the black lugs so optional extra

Painted lugs were trendy about the time I got into bikes, sorry but never liked them. They are coming back into fashion though............

I'm not sure now! Would you leave the lugs white withvthevrest of the frame? I suppose I could line them perhaps...

It's all personal choice really and what you feel happy with. No doubt that painting the head lugs and seat stay caps black would make it look more period. Have a google as to what they looked like all these years.

Will do, thanks. There would be quite a contrast between white frame and black lugs so I might just line the lugs after painting white.I like the idea of painting the caps though...Better have a think! Thanks for the advice Shaun
