A cleaned up and serviced Pug Mixte for commuting or pottering around.
Std Carbolite frame measuring 57cm c-t and 51cm c-c effective top tube. She's solid with no rust but plenty of surface tarnishing.
27" Rigida alloy rims on Pelissier hubs run smoothly, runs fairly straight and no rubbing on pads, I gave the rims a decent rub down. QR front/solid axle rear, shod with pretty much new 32mm Schwalbe Marathon#s that come up to size and there's new tubes fitted.
Peugeot Branded Stronglight 99 c/set with 52/40 rings, all cleaned, the 40 has seen plenty of use but isn't slipping under pressure. These are fab c/sets if you want a wide range on a double but this set-up is more suitable for flatter terrain though the 6 speed 14-28 Shimano freeewheel will help with smaller slopes.
BB has been taken apart, cleaned, lubed and adjusted.
Nice Wellgo alloy bodied pedals are smooth and have been removed and refitted.
Peugeot branded long cage Simplex rear d plus Simplex front are great mechanically, I deep cleaned the jockey/pulley wheels so the chain runs through nicely. Also cleaned the chain as well.
Basic Simplex friction shifters work well, you can get it into the 52/28 and it runs but the RD is really stretched out, the chain is prolly about 2 links short for comfort.
Peugeot branded Weinmann centre pulls bring the bike to a stop in reasonable time, plenty left in the pads which are more modern replacments.
Atax stem with Milremo Porteur/Middleton type bars 38cm centre to centre of the grip ends, these can be a bit of a challenge for the inexperienced to start with.
Steel pin that's been regreased, ex Raleigh ladies suede saddle that was blue 25+ years ago and the material isn't as nice as it once was but comfy enough,
Full length guards and a basic steel rack finish off the emsemble.
circa 12.5kg so not mega heavy
