+1000 on that one. Since I've lived in the US for quite a while, most daily words don't really bother me but Aluminum gets on my nerves, it's Aluminium people always was, just because some ignorant hick can't say it doesn't mean the word should change. (On a side note it really bothers me when some people use the word "neck" for a stem, don't know if this is an American thing or not).

Aluminum is the original spelling of the element,later the "i" was added to make it fit in with the other "iums" on the periodic table.
