Pedals - a wasted afternoon? IT WAS A Ti AXLE!

Re: Pedals - a wasted afternoon?

MOrning all,

after a sleepless night, i crept into the garage at 530 this morning to have another look at the damaged pedal. I am finding it difficult to see how to repair it - there is no 'swing room' for a hammer as the cage is very close to the hub body.

As i lay awake i wondered if it would be possible to pull it out - perhaps against a pipe, by using G-clamps (the small ones).

Any advice welcome.

I am tired now!!!

If you really want to sort it you need an anvil (spike end) and a bit of gentle heat to tap it out with a decent forming hammer.

Mr History -

At last - a good idea!!! LOLOLOLOL (only jesting)

But I could work something out with a spike stuck in my vice or similar solution - thanks for the hint.

Update -

the ungroovey axle must be Ti as it is not magnetic and I doubt it is stainless steel due to colour and weight.

So i am not fitting it on the ProRace.
