Panasonic PR-6000

Since discovering Panasonic bikes, this has become my new bike porn centrefold. Overtaking the dynatech castorama.

Thx. Yes, it is great. I wrote an article on the PR-6000 for a Dutch publication:

I wonder if their factory still has the same computer systems as back then?

Interesting movie. In the US it was called Panasonic Individual Custom System (PICS), but in Japan it was Panasonic Order System. As POS doesn't give a positive impression of the product you're offering, the PICS brand name was introduced for the US.

My PR-6000 mentions Panasonic Order System on the seattube.

Re:

The Panasonic order system is still active in Japan. I recently had a friend have a Panasonic track frame built up in Tokyo. They are still making lovely bikes, what's amazing is that I have been to Kalavinka in Gakigeidaigaku and it is very "artisan/tiny workshop" so watching that video is tha complete opposite to the handbuilt craftsmanship that I think of when I think of Japanese handbuilt frames.

Pretty cool to watch. Might be heading back out for a business trip soon, so I wonder if I should bring back something!
