Evening Folks,

Just wondering what peoples views were on these?

My local Halfords have the non folding versions (590g) for £10 a tyre. Seems reasonable value for a winter tyre.

Judging by the condition of their labels they look old stock, Cannot seem to find a photo of them on tinterweb

Anyone else use them?

Cheers,

MArk

Excellent tyre , I have only ever used the folding 1.8 version, and have nothing but praise for them, never had problems putting them on or off..

brilliant in the thick of it.. :)

Interesting comment about the tree routes :? , One of the local rides I do is strewn with roots and never had any problems,,

Have you experimented with the tyre pressures, and are you using the folding version.. :)

I have the unfortunate misfortune of working for halfords :( and we had loads of these tyres, folding and non, normal xc ones and mud all same price as head office dont know what they are....

but yeah, i used the folding mud ones at the first 2 thetford winter series and where great i thought, used them last month when couldnt get out on road bike coz of the snow and they good, not sketchy on roots or owt, whell no more than normal tyres are

Hi Mark

Do you want me to lend you a pair to try out?
Got a spare pair of 1.8's in the back of the saab. I'll bring them to the Thetford meet tomorrow.

*edit* Just read your wanted post - you sorted for flat bars?
I've got a set of Easton EA50's ( not oversize) I'll bring those as well!!

Cheers,

I like skinny tyres, but i reckon the xc pro 1.8" is more versatile and being thin is also pretty good in the mud. All Terrain Cycles are doing the folding ones on ebay at the mo for £30 a pair. They're also quite a bit lighter than the 1.8 muds. Blue sidewalls may not be to everyone's taste, but I think they're an all round better buy.
