Pace Stem ??

Not in the 1992 or 1993 catalogues. And it is designed for Ahead system which places it much later any way. In 1992/3 Pace were still selling their combined one piece stem/steerers.

my thoughts are still that its a stem with a pace sticker rather than a pace stem.

I cant see the detail in the photos but that general clamping system isn't unique to Pace. Syncros use similar and I have a very generic quality stem that shares the idea.

Just googled and found an image of another brand using what looks to be the same mechanism.

That said yours is much much nicer quality than that.

I'd go with a Pace sticker stuck on a highly engineered stem

The steerer pinch system and the handlebar clamp area are rather Pace-esque, quite similar to the RC45.
The rest of it, well, it looks nicely made, looks quality.

Any idea how much it weighs?

That said yours is much much nicer quality than that.

I know the clamping system isn't unique to Pace, but the bolt of it is a Pace one, and the other bits same than on other PACE stem.
