What Gil is doing is trying to become the Goldfinger of the Pace world. He's collecting all the best examples of RC100s in the country, is then storing them in his underground lair. When the time is right he will use his army of henchmen to explode several nuclear bombs over Yorkshire thus rentering all other Pace bikes radioactive and therefore unusable, and then the price of his collection will soar. Mwuuhahahah.

Surely that would only work if all the other Paces were located in Yorkshire and immediate surroundings...

And I know of several that aren't...
