Oury Grips or Lock On's?

After some new grips for my P7 - never used Ourys before, would they be a bit more 'period correct'/appropriate style than generic lock-on grips for a 1996 bike?

Anyone like/dislike them?

I've found Oury grips excellent in all but one manner - the wet. They seem to slip about on the bar a lot more than any other I've used.

Some hairspray for Hair and your grips will not move

I used hairspray. It didn't help.
