Organising tools onto wall

A few years on from this and I need to move my garage around again
So this time I’m wanting to mount the tools on the wall but not into brick.
Options are plywood screwed onto the wall and then attach tools or I’ve seen the peg hole type metal ones that places sell. Issue is they don’t come with many hangers/ mounts.
Anyone got a decent set up without spending a fortune unnecessarily?

That looks really practical and stylish - I really like it. Sadly I've far too many tools unless I separate out bike ones from my ever expanding automotive ones.
IKEA do some magnetic peg boards, maybe of interest?

Currently I think that plywood is winning as it’s cost free and also I can add another piece as needed easily.

I must say i keep mine in roller cab at bottom and drawers on top...reason being i need every so often to take the big top box places....plus, tbh, i go so used working out of a box/ chest at work, putting stuff on the wall seems an alien concept....plus it eats up space for posters!
