Removal of lacquer/varnish from a P7

Hi,

Any advice on how to remove the lacquer/varnish from a P7 frame and just keep the nickel??

Been a while since I've seen this thread - I miss my P7.. It was a great bike!

I seem to remember that mine still had the nickle coating underneath the powder coat so you should be able to get it shot blasted. Double check first though.

I've heard that nitromors will turn the nickle black so I wouldn't go the paint stripper route.

Sounds very drastic! Hoping for a more gentle way of removal, have read Nitromors is a bit harsh. Any others ideas welcome please.

If I remember I bought my P7 around 97/98, everything else except the frame and hot rod bar has changed. Bike has been to many places in Southern Africa and now back in blighty is due for a slow overhaul again, except frame and bar! but would like to keep the nickel as varnish looking tatty. Also turning into a tourer. Truly a great frame.
