Re:

With the hubs rebuilt and the headset paint dry I couldn’t resist getting the build started...

Re: Orange P7 (1995, I think... TBC)

I’ve discovered my only new(ish) 8 speed cassette in the garage is for a 130mm dropout so had to order one, the one it had it too old to reuse. So no sadly not quite going to be ready. Also had to order some new spokes. It’s the little things!

Re:

I’d been putting off sorting out the cranks because I don’t do things by half and therefore I knew it was going to be a hard job. So I chose the hottest day of the year so far to spend hours wet and dry sanding with about 5 different grits. Look good now though...

(Yes I know, different groupsets; any guessing which two? That added to the challenge of getting this done)

Re: Orange P7 (1995, I think... TBC)

Looking great, this thread always reminds me I should renovate some parts in the parts bin.
And the usual M563/M569 thing, I believe both use the same BB length, so should work together. The right arm of M569 is the nicest/ugliest (you choose) crankset. I personally love it except for that it gets difficult to get replacement chainrings.

Bingo. M569 drive side is definitely not for me. In fact no 4 bolt pattern on an 90s bike is for me
