I've recently bought an Orange Hitman contract 26 on here, to use at my local pump track mostly. I love it, it's great fun, and will let me push myself to get better at jumping and so on.
I was wondering what the best opupgrades I could make to tailor the bike for pump track use. I'm planning to go from 1x9 with chain guide to a singlespeed setup. The standard crankset (bmx style 3 pce) seems Quite heavy too, so was wondering what would be the best option to save some weight. Should I switch to square taper or hollowtech (or similar) or should I stick with a bmx style 3 piece, and if so, which ones might be lighter without breaking the bank?
I was pleasantly surprised by the sunn wheels, which don't seem too heavy, and I've fitted slick tyres for the tarmac pump track.
Any other suggestions for best geometry and weight saving would be most welcome, as I'm fairly new to jump bikes in general and pump track bikes in particular.
TIA
